The Beneficiary
The Center for AIDS: Hope & Remembrance Project (The CFA) believes the well-being of HIV-infected individuals begins with their affirmative participation in the process of treatment. By providing the latest treatment and research information to persons with HIV/AIDS, their caregivers and healthcare providers, the CFA helps people with HIV survive through knowledge, by getting treatment information into the hands of the people who need it most, in a form they can understand. The CFA keeps the medical and affected community informed, updated and involved in the search for a cure, in addition to advocating locally and nationally for better treatment and access to care for persons living with HIV/AIDS. The CFA's publications are distributed widely throughout the United States and to other countries.
Your Day of Impact
The staff of the Center for AIDS will welcome us to their home for a brief tour and overview of their programs. The CFAs treatment specialists will share their insight into the most current state of AIDS and HIV treatment in this country. Expect to hear information you have not read about in your hometown paper. The CFA will show us the diverse, and often innovative, ways in which they are able to impart knowledge to the community.
Later in the day, we will participate in an interactive exercise that will allow us to better understand how a treatment information and research advocacy organization creates impact at a personal, local, and national level.
Fundraising Requirement: $700
